Take PSAT - this is the year you can qualify for the National Merit Scholarship

November/December

Find out which exams, ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) are required by the colleges to which you are interested in. Register for the SAT online at www.collegeboard.com if you are taking the January exam. Register at act.org if you are taking the ACT test in February. YOU NEED TO TAKE AT LEAST ONE EXAM (ACT or SAT) THIS SPRING.

January

Continue preparing for SAT if you are taking it later this month. .

February

Take ACT if you registered. Sign up for AP test if you desire to take one.

March

Register for SAT if you are going to take it in May. Register for the ACT test online if you are planning on taking this in April.

April

Take ACT. Narrow down your college choices.

May

Take AP test and also SAT if you registered. Think back through this year and list all the different activities you were involved in. Be sure to include any awards or special recognition. Update your resume.

June

Get a summer job, if possible.
