Meeting the Need
Bucharest Christian Academy began with six children in 1993, as a home school cooperative formed by three missionary families. In 1996, BCA was formally established, with a Board of Directors representing the founding mission organizations to provide a reasonably priced education to the international Christian community in Bucharest. The formation of BCA made it possible for many families to work and minister in Romania.
From the beginning, BCA has been blessed with dedicated Christian teachers who raise financial support in their home countries. These teachers have demonstrated great flexibility and ingenuity as they have dealt with flooded classrooms, erratic heat and electricity, and the sudden loss of facilities on several occasions.
Over the past 14 years, the school has met in various rented facilities throughout the city. Currently BCA is utilizing three houses on a residential street. The dream of a permanent home for BCA—with “real” classrooms and offices, playing fields and its own gymnasium—seemed out of reach for many years. Now our dream is becoming a reality.

TESTIMONY
“My husband and I have taught at BCA for 9 years. The diversity of students adds a new dimension and richness to our classes. Teaching here is incredibly challenging and rewarding, but we have been blessed to see many students come to faith in Christ and we hope to remain here for many more years.”
