Bucharest Christian Academy is making a difference in the lives of children, in the lives of families, and in the lives of the community. I know first-hand because my children attend. The education they are receiving makes it possible for us to minister confidently as a family. Our story is not unique. Currently, missionaries from 14 agencies have children studying at BCA. They are able to serve long-term in a variety of ways because BCA exists.
However, BCA faces significant challenges. Rising rent makes our present situation untenable. We lack any sports opportunities because of not having a gym, a playground, or even a yard. Teachers must use great creativity to make our rented facilities, designed to be homes, into classrooms. Many families, hearing about our good reputation, visit the school only to decide against it because of the facilities. This limits our impact on the community.
Thanks to God, BCA also enjoys excellent opportunities. We have an acre of land, $605,000 saved, and no debt. As we meet our modest fundraising goals, we can build a permanent home. And with additional help of construction teams, donations of school supplies, furniture, and playground equipment, we can direct funds to other vital needs, including providing incentives for new and long-term teachers.
We invite you to learn more about BCA and the difference it makes by reading our case statement. Perhaps you could play a role in “equipping students to influence the world.”
